Mission
Our Mission Committee is busy serving God and helping members of our congregation find ways to serve God. Our committee has grown in number and we hope to continue this growth. One of the responsibilities of the committee is the administration of special offerings which are coordinated with the Presbytery. The committee is also responsible for administering the Mission budget. Ten percent of all pledges are earmarked for mission projects. Some of the local agencies receiving financial support were the Albuquerque Rescue Mission, All Faith’s Receiving Home, Albuquerque Literacy Project, Samaritan Counseling Center, Rio Grande Food Project, Martineztown House of Neighborly Service, ARTA and Joy Junction. In addition, funds are allocated to provide food and presents for families from Mission Elementary School for Christmas.

Martineztown Suspends Services for 6 Months

Written by Mission
Due to severe funding issues, Martineztown House of Neighborly Service has suspended services for 6 months. They plan to take this time to reevaluate their mission and explore other community options. We are so saddened by this news! But we also know God’s hand is in this and that He will work through every detail. As you may know, each year we donate Thanksgiving baskets to Martineztown families through our Shepherd Groups. The Martineztown Women’s Auxiliary meets early this month to determine if they will collect them this year. In the meantime, SOTV will continue to collect the food items.…
