The Mission Committee’s goal is to show Christ’s love to others by serving the needy, the outcast, the poor, and the disadvantaged. We do this by promoting congregational awareness of local, PCUSA and international outreach needs; encouraging congregational involvement in support of mission programs; and providing the congregation a wide range of opportunities in which to participate according to his or her time, talents and spiritual gifts. We focus our efforts at every level: World, Local, and Internal. We give higher priority to organizations and programs that support our community within 5 miles of Shepherd of the Valley. We value ‘process’ as much as ‘product’, and therefore also prioritize our support for organizations and programs where there is high member involvement. We evaluate organizations based on who they serve, whether they duplicate a current SOTV project, and their financial integrity
