Rev. Tom Hart's Translation: Matthew 6 : 7-13

When you are praying, do not build a mound of empty phrases as the Gentiles do, believing words will make you heard.

You do not need to pray like that, for your Father knows what you need.

When you pray do so like this: Our Father in heaven, your name is holy and may it always be known to be holy. Let Your kingdom come. Let Your will be done, on earth as it already is in heaven. Give us the bread we need for this day. And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us. And do not bring us to the time of trial, but rescue us from the evil one.
