Overflowing With Opportunities for Adult Christian Growth
Join us during the Sunday School hour for the next few months as we continue to study and grow in God’s Word. All are welcome. The next few months will include the following.
- Jesus’s call to the first disciples to be “fishers of men” brims with the good news that in God’s kingdom, people can believe and repent and give new direction to their lives. This good news is cause for the praise expressed in Psalm 111
, as we give voice to the wonderful works of God in the context of our worshiping community. - The healing stories in the following weeks in Mark 1:29-39
and 2 Kings 5:1-4
impart God’s desire that his people live in wholeness and fullness of physical life under the care of the “divine physician”. The Transfiguration in Mark 9:2-9
, where Jesus appears in “dazzling white” alongside Elijah and Moses, fulfills God’s promises in the Hebrew Bible in the person of the Messiah. - As the church begins to reflect on the passion and resurrection of Jesus on the first Sunday of Lent, God’s covenant with Noah after the flood in Genesis 9:8-17
is recalled as evidence of God’s faithfulness in providing for the earth and its inhabitants.
